Electric 2023 Genesis GV60 Arrives in Canada Soon, Pricing Announced

The Genesis GV60, the automaker's first fully electric vehicle, is set to go on sale this week. The new luxury electric crossover will be offered in two trims, both with standard all-wheel drive.

The GV60 Advanced is the entry-level trim, but it's tough to classify it as "entry" because it's so well featured. The model has 314 hp and 446 lb-ft of torque, with one motor in the front and one in the rear providing all-wheel drive. Official Canadian range figures aren't yet available, but with a 77.7-kWh battery, the crossover has an estimated 402-km range.

The Advanced trim will include the unique Crystal Sphere shifter, the GV60's delightful party trick. It will also get heated and ventilated Nappa leather seats. On the tech side, it gets the brand's full driver assistance suite, fingerprint authentication to start the vehicle, and facial scanning to unlock the doors.

The GV60 Performance adds a more powerful motor up front for a total of 429 hp that can jump to 483 hp with 516 lb-ft of torque for short periods in Boost Mode. For better handling, it will have an electronic limited-slip differential and electronically controlled suspension. Comfort features include a 17-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system, active noise cancellation, and massaginig driver seat.

The range for GV60 Performance is expected to be slightly shorter at 381 km.

The GV60 Advanced starts from $71,000, a price that includes delivery, five years of scheduled maintenance, at-home concierge service, and Genesis connected services. Performance models include the same extras, for $79,000. Though it goes on sale this week, it'll take a few more days for vehicles to hit showrooms. Expect them to arrive at the end of the month.
