CHANGES FOR 2014:
- Four-speed automatic replaced by CVT transmission.
- Standard automatic headlights.
- 2LT gets standard heated power body-colour side mirrors with integrated signals.
- Paint changes: Lime and Grape Ice added.
- New dealer-installed accessories: interior trim kits (white, silver, blue, green), Z-Spec floor mats, Z-Spec grille, fog light kit, and roof rack cross rails.
After just a single year on the market, the Chevrolet Spark is getting a much needed drivetrain upgrade. Sure, the 1.2L engine isn't powerful (and that isn't what's changing), but the archaic four-speed automatic was abysmal. For 2014, the four cog slushbox gets replaced by a continuously variable transmission. Not only will it help in the fuel economy department, an area in which the Spark wasn't particularly good, but it will also reduce engine noise at highway speeds. Also, Techno Pink is gone (thank you, GM).
In LS trim, features include 1.2L ECOTEC four-cylinder engine, five-speed manual transmission, airbags (front, driver/front passenger knee, front seat, side curtain, rear passenger outboard seat mounted), OnStar, electronic immobilizer, front disc/rear drum brakes with ABS, body-colour door handles, automatic headlights, spoiler with integrated LED centre high-mounted brake light, inflator kit, 15-inch aluminum wheels, cargo net, driver information centre, TPMS, tilt steering wheel, driver side vanity mirror, power windows, 4-way driver/2-way passenger manual seats, cloth seating, 60/40 flip and fold rear seats, and four-speaker AM/FM audio.
1LT trim adds security system, body-colour power mirrors, backup camera, air conditioning, air filtration, cruise control, floor mats, exterior temperature display, map lights, power locks, remote keyless entry, steering wheel mounted Bluetooth/cruise/audio controls, dual vanity mirrors, six-speaker Chevrolet MyLink audio with 7-inch display, satellite radio, and Bluetooth phone connectivity and audio streaming.
2LT trim adds single chrome exhaust outlet, sport front and rear bumpers, chrome finish liftgate handle, fog lights, body-colour power heated mirrors with integrated turn signals, body-colour lower rockers, silver painted roof rails, 15-inch aluminum wheel with painted pockets, leather-wrapped steering wheel, heated front seats, and leatherette seating surfaces.
