Now in its third generation, the Oakville-assembled Ford Edge takes its style, comfort, and day-to-day usability on a road trip around the world. As with the Fusion and Mustang, the Edge will be sold in Europe, Asia, and even Australia. That’s good news for customers here, who benefit from a more refined and technically sophisticated midsize crossover.
The latest Edge grows slightly in size inside and out, and much greater attention has been paid to fit and finish with higher quality materials to back its bold appearance. Most models come with MyFord Touch, but traditional buttons replace capacitive touch controls. You’ll also find plenty of gadgets on the options list -- many of which will appeal to your inner geek: self-parking for parallel and perpendicular spaces, a front camera with its own washing system, radar cruise control with full auto-brake, and a foot-actuated power tailgate are all available.
The Edge is offered with three different engines. A heavily revised 2.0-litre EcoBoost four-cylinder is now the base engine and can be had with front- or all-wheel drive. Optional is a 3.5-litre V6 that is carried over from the previous generation. It comes in both front- and all-wheel drive, too. A 2.7-litre turbo V6 can be found under the hood of the AWD-only Edge Sport; its 315 hp makes it the most potent Edge to date. Regardless of engine selection, all feature a six-speed automatic.
SE, SEL, Titanium, and Sport trims are offered.

The SEL builds on the SE adding a 10-way power driver’s seat, EasyFold split-folding rear seat, premium cloth upholstery, heated front seats, auto-dimming rear-view mirror, dual-zone climate control, proximity key, leather-wrapped steering wheel, Pewter interior trim with Satin Twilight accents, satellite radio, LED signature lamps, body-colour mirrors with turn-signal indicators, reverse parking sensor, chrome window trim, SecuriCode keyless entry.

SEL with 201A equipment group adds MyFord Touch system with eight-inch colour LCD display, two 4.2-inch instrument cluster LCD displays, media hub with two USB ports, premium audio with nine speakers, and a remote starter.
Titanium adds standard leather upholstery, 10-way power front seats with driver’s side memory, MyFord Touch infotainment system with eight-inch LCD, 12-speaker Sony stereo system, reconfigurable instrument cluster with LCD displays, two USB outlets, ambient lighting, illuminated door sills, aluminum interior trim with metal-plated accents, universal garage door opener, 19-inch alloy wheels, body-colour door handles, body-colour mirrors with LED turn signal indicators and approach lamps, foot-activated power tailgate, LED tail lamps with light bar, alarm, and remote starter.

Titanium with Equipment Group 302A builds on 301A and adds lane-keeping assist, driver alert system, enhanced parking assist with parking sensors, front 180-degree camera with washer, HID headlamps with auto high-beam lights, rain-sensing wipers, and 2nd-row inflatable seatbelts.
The Sport adds 2.7-litre V6 engine, AWD, sport-tuned suspension, 20-inch wheels, black exterior trim, integrated exhaust trim, LED tail lights with light bar, Sport-specific headlamps, Sport-specific valances with colour trim, 10-way power front seats, leather upholstery with suede-effect inserts, MyFord Touch infotainment system with eight-inch LCD, 12-speaker Sony stereo system, reconfigurable instrument cluster with LCD displays, two USB outlets, ambient lighting, illuminated door sills, brush-weave aluminum interior trim with metal-plated accents, aluminum pedals, universal garage door opener and more.
