NEW FOR 2012: - All-new model For 2012, the Volkswagen Passat is completely redesigned. The Passat comes with a choice of three engines: a 2.5-litre five-cylinder with five-speed manual transmission or six-speed automatic; a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbodiesel (TDI) with six-speed manual or six-speed Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG) automatic; and a 3.6-litre V6 with six-speed DSG automatic. Trim levels are the Trendline with 2.5-litre; Trendline+ with 2.5-litre or 2.0 TDI; and the Comfortline and Highline, available with all three engines. Features on the Trendline include 16-inch steel wheels, dual-zone automatic climate control, eight-way driver and four-way passenger manually-adjustable cloth seats, 60/40 split-folding rear seat with centre armrest, variable intermittent wipers, keyless entry, analog clock, automatic headlamps, CD/MP3 stereo with auxiliary input, Bluetooth connectivity, cruise control, compass, front and rear floor mats, front centre armrest with storage, leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel, multifunction trip computer, heated mirrors and tire pressure monitoring system. The Trendline+ adds 16-inch alloy wheels, heated seats, heated washer nozzles, illuminated vanity mirrors, rear centre armrest with storage, and seatback map pockets. The TDI version also adds chrome side and rear fender accents, engine block heater and fog lights. The Comfortline adds 17-inch alloy wheels, eight-way driver and six-way passenger power “leatherette” seats, alarm system, sliding centre armrest, chrome exterior window surrounds, diversity antenna, front and rear reading lights, media interface with iPod connectivity, power sunroof, Sirius satellite radio, and Titan Silver interior trim. The V6 version also adds dual exhaust with chrome tips, steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters and sport seats. The Highline adds eight-way power leather and Dinamica sport seats, auto-dimming rearview mirror, chrome side and rear fender accents, premium touch-screen six-CD stereo, Fender premium digital sound package of eight speakers and subwoofer, fog lights, garage door opener, interior lighting package, pushbutton ignition, burl walnut interior trim, and rear seat pass-through. Models with an automatic transmission add a remote starter. The Highline V6 adds driver’s side memory.
