Model Overview
The Taos marks the first time Volkswagen has fielded a vehicle in the subcompact crossover class. It’s a big move, because this segment is where many car buyers now look for entry-level models. And though it competes as a subcompact, the VW Taos’ spacious interior, refinement and turbocharged performance make it feel like it belongs a class above. Notably, the Taos’ beginning is the beginning of the end for the much-loved Golf hatchback in Canada.

Under certain conditions, the rearview camera image may not appear on the center screen. Canadian regulations require the rearview image to display when the transmission is shifted into reverse gear.
Safety Risk:
A rearview camera image that does not display could reduce a driver's ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up. This could increase the risk of a crash.

On certain vehicles, a quick connector for the fuel line in the engine compartment may not be secure. As a result, the connector could detach and cause a fuel leak. This could cause the engine to stall while driving.
Safety Risk:
A sudden loss of engine power could increase the risk of a crash. Additionally, a fuel leak can create the risk of a fire.
Corrective Action:
Volkswagen will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to inspect the fuel line connection. If required, the fuel line and connector will be replaced.
