Chrysler's mid-size 200 sedan returns for 2016 with some new tech, new paint colours, and revised front seats with "improved firmness."
There's a new 90th Anniversary package available on Limited models that adds as standard kit a Uconnect 8.4-inch touchscreen, sunroof, remote start, auto-dimming rearview mirror, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated steering wheel, backup camera, and special front floormats.
Other news includes a drag-and-drop menu bar, Siri Eyes Free, and do-not-disturb functions for cars with the 8.4-inch Uconnect system.
The 200 model line starts with the LX, powered by a 2.4L four-cylinder engine (184 hp/173 lb-ft of torque) routed to the front wheels through a nine-speed automatic transmission. Standard features include intelligent keyless entry with push-button start, air conditioning, cloth seats with six-way manual adjustment for driver and front passenger, tilt-and-telescopic steering, and a sliding front centre armrest.
Next up is the Limited model, which sticks with the four-cylinder but adds headlights with LED signature lighting, heated side mirrors, fog lights, Uconnect 5.0 infotainment system, Bluetooth, one-touch up/down front windows, and 17-inch alloy wheels. A 3.6L V6 good for 295 hp/262 lb-ft is optional here, as is blind spot monitoring with rear cross-path detection.
The 200S brings cloth seats with blue leather trim, steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters, sport driving mode, acoustic windshield and front door glass, sport suspension, and 18-inch wheels. Again, the V6 is optional, as are 19-inch wheels, navigation, and the Uconnect 8.4 system.
Finally, the 200C adds leather upholstery, heated front seats, six-way power front passenger seat, seven-inch in-cluster information display, heated steering wheel, auto-dimming rearview mirror, and touring suspension.
AWD is available with the V6 engine.
Natural Resources Canada fuel consumption estimates are 10.2/6.4 L/100 km (city/highway) for four-cylinder models; 12.4/7.5 for FWD V6 cars, and 12.8/8.1 L/100 km for AWD/V6 models.
Pricing starts at $22,895 for LX trim, and Limited takes it to $26,295; 200S models go for $28,295 (or $32,795 with V6 and AWD), and the 200C starts as a $29,295 car that goes up to $33,795 with V6 and AWD.
