NEW FOR 2015:
-GTS trim
For its third year on the market, the latest generation Boxster adds a high-performance GTS trim, boasting an extra 15 hp and 7 lb-ft of torque over the Boxster S (with which the GTS shares its 3.4L engine), for totals of 330 and 273, respectively. Base and S models carry on, the entry-level car using a 2.7L flat six making 265 and 206 lb-ft, and the S getting a 3.4L motor making 315 hp and 266 lb-ft. All three start with a six-speed manual transmission, the option being a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic, called PDK.
All three trims can be personalized with items from Porsche's extensive (and expensive) list of options.
Standard features include 18-inch wheels, LED taillights, six-speed manual transmission, electric parking brake, 4.6-inch digital driver information display, Bluetooth, cruise control, power windows with one-touch up/down, rain-sensing wipers, electrically-adjustable and heated side mirrors, four-speaker CD stereo with auxiliary input and seven-inch touchscreen, floor mats, three-spoke steering wheel, garage door opener, footwell lighting and map lamps, sport seats with electric seatback adjustment, tilt-and-telescopic steering, single-zone air conditioning, electric convertible top, and front and rear storage compartments.
Boxster S models add the larger engine, 19-in wheels, bi-Xenon headlights, four-spoke steering wheel, and upgraded brakes with red calipers.
GTS trim adds 20-inch wheels, steerable headlights, sport exhaust, Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), sport chrono package, Alcatara-trimmed steering wheel, headliner, centre console and seat inserts.
