2002 GMC Sonoma

Small truck but big heart
Too bad GMC stopped making the Sonoma. Mine is still going strong despite a little rust and nearly 200k km. I've done very little to it over the years aside from replace a battery and bulbs. Not really a tough truck but it does get most jobs done. Wish I could buy another one in a couple years.

Great Little Truck
I've had this truck for 4 years, and am the second owner. It has great fuel economy for a RWD truck. Rust on the rear portion of the Ext cab is the big issue though.

Reliability is the key
Very reliable vehicle.
Dependable.
Low maintenance.
An excellent low to mid work vehicle; a super cottage truck!

I have had very low maintenance costs and excellent warranty work; probably due more to the dealer than GM but nonetheless this is was the best vehicle to date that I have owner!

You looking for a truck that won't eat you out of your home and what you own
It reads like it is, i've had this truck since new and time and again like when i brought it for it usual shedualed maintenance i would take a full size rental for the day while my truck got serviced. Well inevitably i ended up with the dodge full size truck with the V8 Hemi engine one fine day and it happened that i had to spend the day running around the city doing errands and that hemi guzzled approx.,$125.00 in fuel by the time my day ended. You do the math and come to your own conclusion.

2000 GMC Sonoma

GMC Sonoma
My Sonoma was a fun little truck that had great acceleration and was fun to drive. I operate a landscaping company though, which proved a bit much for this little truck. It didn't have the power that I would have liked and eventually the work proved to much for it, causing the transmission to go. I would only get this truck again if I needed a small truck for carrying a limited number of tools, and never materials.

Great little truck
This truck was the second truck I have ever owned and it was a good little truck. Once the killometers got up to just over 200k I started having problems with the head gasket amonge with other electrical issues. As far as the body goes, cab corners usually go first then look at the fenders, rear then lower fronts close to the doors. As far as the frame goes if they do start to rot, they usually go in the front driver side right across from the cat converter.

never any break downs! drove from alberta to bc in dead of winter no problem
I personally enjoy this truck to drive. it handles like a truck but the size of a car. The interior is comfy, everything right where it should be. best thing about this truck is how insanely fast the interior heats up. Great for those early morning starts

What a Great truck
I owned and drove a ZR2 for three years, and it was a great experiance. It drove and handled great both on and off road, I was supprised by the power the V6 has. Had a good feel to the interior, easy to reach all the controls and whatever stuff I had in the truck. Extended cab was awesome for extra room in the cab and the box was big enough to put my sled, dirtbike, motorcycle in. Maintence was pretty cheep to keep up and anytime i needed parts they were always easy to find.
Overall for a everyday driver and truck used to haul my toys around, I gave this truck 5/5

Epic little truck!!
I bought this truck for 1500 dollars back in 2009. It says 70 miles/hour but i can go a bit faster than that. It's a great little truck for carrying dirt bikes, four wheelers, and other recreational vehicles. It does spin easily if you know how to pop the clutch and it's great for doing so.

Gas Guzzler
Not sure if anyone has the same problem as me but boy oh boy does this truck ever eat the gas. I have a 4x4 and find I spend a lot of time at the gas pumps. It drives very nicely for a truck and the 4WD works great in the snow. Haven't gotten stuck even when other 4x4's were.

1994 GMC Sonoma

Just a Truck
I owned this truck since I was 16 years old, and over the past 6 years it has proven itself time and time again. In the beginning it was everything I asked for, but over time and from my own fault it began to fall apart piece by piece. The truck still gets me from A to B, but many of the mechanical functions and operations are slipping in performance and efficiency. Every month something seems to be needing replaced, and at 235 000 Km I doubt she will make it to 300 000 Km. Overall, I recommend this vehicle to anyone else considering buying a truck like this, and only advise to keep better care of it then I ever did. I learned my lesson and my next vehicle will be ever so babied. Be ever so wary buying used vehicles. The truck I bought was just a lemon.

GMC Sonoma Review
the truck was a very good little truck for me, not the best on gas or performance but she drove real smooth and never really gave me any problems, she couldent hold as much weight as a full size but it was also more fuel efficient then a full size pick up

This truck was bought because our Van's transmission went and we cold not afford to fix it nor afford to pay much if any money for another work vehicle. For being free, and so old (91) it actually runs fairly well. My truck has over 500,000 kms on it and its still going strong and has only needed small repairs-o2 sensor, distributor cap, plugs, fuel filter. Thanks heavens I have a good mechanic that loves working on older vehicles.
