2006 FX35
FX35 may not be as sporty as FX45, but it uses regular fuel and therefore much more practical. The paddle shifters work great and will help you to squeeze the extra little bit from the engine when you need it. The real life fuel economy is 10L/100km on the highway and 17-18 in the city... _if_ you're not in a rush :)
City/highway combined is around 14.5-15L/100km with conservative driving.
The only complaint I have about my trim is that it's lacking the heated side mirrors. Also the trunk is relatively small.
Other than that this SUV is a pleasure to drive both on the highway and in the city.

2001 Acura EL
Reliable and cheap to maintain.
The engine is lacking a few HPs, but it's an excellent commuter car.

Eyes turner
This is awesome car to drive. My only complaint is the lack of space in the trunk. The spare tire takes most of it.

Average at everything
Typical American car that made the US auto industry go bankrupt. Don't buy it new, don't buy it used. Cheap interior materials. Poor reliability. Underpowered engine. You'll need to turn off A/C when going up hill. Get yourself a Civic SI instead.

It's a bus. Not an SUV
I rented this beast for a couple of days to take our friends on a tour and it felt like we had a tour bus. Trunk in the XL trim is huge even with the 3rd row sits up.
This SUV is AWESOME when you have to change lanes! Goes thru the traffic like an ice breaker :) The vehicle gets a great deal of respect on the road and nine adults feel quite comfortable inside.
Though I was not impressed by the performance on a highway and was shocked when had to fill up: don't be surprised if you get up to 25L/100 km. So if you considering buying one - get yourself a hybrid.

Nothing special, but...
it's a really descent car. Impressive power even with the 2.5L engine. Interior and the exterior are not standing out. Average design, but the materials are not as cheap as in most of the American made cars. Roomy and quite practical sedan.

Most practical mid-size sedan
Bought this car used at ~60k. Now it's got 150k. Tire rotation, oil change and servicing the breaks are the only things I had to spend my money on. Got into an accident once. Repairs were so cheap it's ridiculous! All in all I'm very satisfied with this car. The only complain is a bit of a road noise on the highway. Power is adequate for most of the situations. Ride is quite comfortable and even my oversensitive wife never get motion sick. Fuel economy is awesome: from 9L in a stop and go traffic downtown to 4.6L on a highway! Buy it used and drive it until you hit 500k on the odometer.

The car does well what it's supposed to
This is not a car for your every day needs. There could be two reasons why one would want to buy a Niva. Nostalgia about good old times, or if you are a car enthusiast. In both cases I don't need to tell you what that beast is capable of. It's off road capabilities are simply amazing. But you will have to posses some technical skills to be able to take it on the road. The good news though is that all you need is a hammer, a wrench and a screwdriver.
